Its west coast road offers breath-taking views and access to the most popular Thailand beaches. Whether you seek a quiet out of the way place or a wild party spot, you will find it in Phuket.
Bangtao Beach
Bangtao is one of the longest beaches and is well-known as a place for vacationers & luxury resorts. When visiting you will notice there are plenty of restaurants and tourist facilities. Because it is a quiet place, it is a great for place for sunbathing & relaxing.
Freedom Beach
Located on Phuket’s west side, south of Patong is Freedom Beach. The nine-hundred foot long white sand beach is surrounded by foliage covered hills. Aside from sunbathing, popular activities include volleyball, soccer and snorkeling. This is a quiet place; noisy water activities are prohibited.
Kamala
Kamala is a calm tranquil place among the Thailand beaches. When visiting, you wont find it crowded like its neighbor Patong. The water is clear and the swimming is safe. Also, if you are interested in snorkeling, head towards the north end of the beach. This two- kilometer beach is a great location for families.
Rawai Beach
Rawai has the distinction of being the first tourist beach on Phuket; located at the southern end of the island, this is a great place to see the nearby islands. Its also a great place to interact with the locals, while enjoy some great seafood. In addition, it is a launching point for boating excursions to the surrounding islands. If you want something more from your vacation than the standard touristy activities, Rawai is worth a second look.
Karon beach
Karon is the second largest beach on the island and is considered one of the best Thailand beaches on Phuket. The beach is usually not as crowed as Patong and the hotels & resorts aren’t far away. As for the attractions, visitors can enjoy mini golf at the eighteen hole Dino Park. If golf is not what you want to do, there is swimming and snorkeling.
Kata Noi
Kata Noi is one of the best Thailand beaches. It is located, near Kata beach and is easily accessible. This is a place to go for relaxation. Also, with its clear water, white sand and evergreen foliage, Kata Noi is well known for its beautiful scenery. If you tire of that, there is also snorkeling and swimming. Lastly during the period from May to October, this is a popular destination for surfers.
Nai Harn
This laid-back place is one of the Phuket’s favorites with the locals. There are only a few hotels and this is a popular place for boats to drop anchor during the high season. The strong undertow can be a problem for swimmer; caution should be exercised from May thru October. Nai Harn is not as touristy as other Thailand beaches, but it has all the food, hotels and shops you need for a great stay.
Paradise Beach
Paradise beach was once one of the best kept secrets; following improvements to the road from Patong to Paradise beach, more visitors started going to Paradise to swim & relax. Paradise is a quiet place with white sand and green foliage in the back ground. Unlike Patong, and despite the influx of tourist, Paradise has managed to keep its natural beauty.
Patong Beach
This is party central for Phuket Island; with the bars & nightclubs, this is the most popular local. On the beach, you will find plenty of sunbeds and vendors willing to sell everything from beers to beach towels. In the busy season Patong is crowded. When visiting here please remember, this place is busy. You could see swimmers, jet skiing and para-sailing in the same area.
Surin Beach
known as ‘Millionaire’s Row’ for the high-end celebrity homes that over look the Andaman Sea, Surin is famous for its turquoise water & white sands. Some popular past times include: para-sailing, jet skiing and surfing. When you are hungry, there are restaurants lined up on the beach. When you are in Phuket, this picturesque place awaits you.
